A Big Shout Out to Highland Park’s Print Media: The Highland Park Journal and Parker Village News!!

Highland Park People’s Voice is a weekly online nonprofit publication composed of all volunteers. Our editors are interested in lifting up the whole of Highland Park, most especially our city's monthly print publications. All respect goes out to our friends and colleagues creating print media, The Highland Park Journal and Parker Village News. "The Journal," as many of us call it, and Parker Village News ensure that the most important local news in Highland Park is printed and delivered monthly to doorsteps throughout the city, free of charge. Whenever possible, Highland Park People's Voice is interested in collaborating with our print media colleagues, sharing and cross-publishing relevant stories to reach as many Highland Parkers as possible with critical information.

The Highland Park Journal, our city's Metro Business Information Guide edited by former Councilman Chris Woodard, has been in publication for 43 years. The Journal contains a treasure trove of important local resources. The January 2023 issue includes an informative story celebrating Glenda McDonald, Highland Park's second ever woman elected as Mayor, with a nod to the Honorable Martha G. Scott, political legend and Highland Park's first woman to hold the office.

Parker Village News is a sleek newsletter published by Juan Shannon of Modern Tribe Communications. It is one facet of the locally led Parker Village development project on East Buena Vista. In the January issue of Parker Village News you will learn about 2023 farming efforts on the Parker Village campus, a local resilience hub in the works on location and a partnership on the smart neighborhood project with the construction company Dreambuilders.
