Highland Park owns a jewel, an incredible asset – our water plant!
Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit there was a hybrid screening of Whose Water? a film by Kate Levy. The National Coalition for Education and Legislation on Affordable Water and the People’s Water Board Coalition presented the film. The fight for water is a political crisis. Kate Levy’s film is about the lack of safe affordable water and sanitation across the United States.
The film includes compelling stories from the Navajo Nation, Kentucky, Michigan, Philadelphia, & Alabama. Two local community water activist - Sylvia Orduno from Welfare Rights and the People’s Water Board Coalition and Jesse Deerinwater from Citizens Resistance at Fermi Two added insight. Whose Water? will be released next year. Watch a trailer on Vimeo.
Let’s not forget, our Highland Park Water Plant is a jewel worth fighting for!
